PARENT CHALLENGE

Belen Jesuit parents we need your help! Due to the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic, the Annual Fr. Dorta- Duque, SJ Memorial Tombola will not be held in 2021. Each year thousands of people attend this family-centric event and we are able to raise much-needed funds to support the Financial Assistance Program. Since we won’t be able to celebrate in person we would like you to consider how much money you typically spend on Tombola weekend and make that a gift towards the Annual Fund for Belen. For instance, the average cost spent by one student attending Tombola Friday-Sunday is estimated to be $150 and for an adult $250.

The Parent Challenge will measure the participation of every family in the Annual Fund for Belen by class from April 18 until April 25. Even if you have already made a gift this year, we are asking you to make an additional one-time contribution if possible. If you don’t already have a pledge to the Annual Fund for Belen, please take this opportunity to participate.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • The school currently operates with a gap of $2,584 per student. We rely on the Fund for Belen gifts to help close the gap between our tuition revenues and the higher cost of providing a top education infused with Jesuit excellence.

  • Virtually no aspect of our school, from arts, athletics, technology upgrades, faculty development, and others is left untouched by these contributions.

  • The Fund for Belen helps us retain and recruit the best faculty and staff.

  • Gifts also help control tuition levels to continue making our school accessible to families regardless of financial circumstances.

  • As a result of gifts made to the Fund for Belen, the class size decreased in the past 4 years to improve the student-teacher ratio to 11:1.

  • Annual Fund gifts are tax-deductible, whereas tuition increases are not.
